Designing an interactive interface requires understanding different behavioural response your users may take using the product. Lecture 6 is about user scenarios and how it helps your design.
Scenarios are hypothetical narratives that reflects possible uses of the product in a daily situation. They predict how different types of users may perform a task on the system to reach their goal. Creating scenarios is significant in making a visual representation of the site structure and helps identify problems before full development. Scenarios outlines regarding to the use:
- Who
- What
- Where
- Why and How
Scenarios are developed around fictional user personas created for the interactive products. The user persona shapes the plausible narrative based on their background such as daily routines, behaviours and goals they have. Scenarios helps define the necessary functions, their use and the level of prioritisation in the user interface. The following image is examples of scenarios for different users for Health Alliance.

Final Thoughts
Lecture 6 was insightful in learning the significance of developing user scenarios for interactive media. Scenarios are important in isolating problems in the user experience as well as identifying functions needed to satisfy user’s goals.
Lecture 6 helped me understand scenarios’ significance in guiding the design decisions for the user interface.
