User Persona & Mood boards

My interactive project will be targeted to young people in education aged
14 to 20 years old. To have a clear idea of my target audience, I have created user personas and mood boards that would represent ideal users of my project. These design tools are significant in planning the approach and types of interactivity needed in my final prototype.

User Persona 1: Michelle Smith

Michelle Smith is a social and creative high school student. She enjoys spending her time expressing herself through social media and heavily relies on her mobile phone.

User 2: Ryan Lim

Ryan Lim is an unsocial and intelligent student in his second year of University. He aims to become more involved in social networking as well as control his use of plastic disposables to save money. Ryan uses his laptop the most for studying rather than for ledger time.

Final Thoughts:

Creating user personas and mood boards allowed me to have a better understanding of my target audience and the functions needed for my prototype:

  • Create an engaging experience for users with short attention spam through engaging visuals and interactivity
  • Limited functions and elements to allow easy navigation through the product

User persona one allowed me to realise I would need to design an interactive that is visually engaging and easy to navigate through.
